Raw Mars Bar Bites – No Bake!

Ah, where do I even begin. These are honestly one of the best things I have ever made. I’m pretty sure I ate a weeks worth of calories in one go, but all clean ingredients, so that’s ok right?! Just joking…moderation! Not joking about how much I ate though…

I won’t lie, I was apprehensive at first! I mean, how can mejdool dates create caramel? What? Why? Cray Cray. But, they taste unreal – creamy, chocolatey, caramelly, and all melty in the mouth. Am I tantalizing your tastebuds??? These are made with 100% RAW INGREDIENTS – vegan, dairy free, everything free. Well, not everything… but you see what I mean. Totally clean and body friendly. LOVE IT.

 

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE BASE

  • 85g almonds
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar / honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil

 

FOR THE FILLING

  • 25 mejdool dates
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar / honey
  • 1 tbsp almond milk
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil

 

FOR THE TOPPING

  • 40g cacao powder (OR SOY PROTEIN POWDER FOR PROTEIN MARS BAR)
  • 1 tbsp agave nectar / honey
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil

 

To turn into a SNICKERS – add crushed peanuts

To turn into a BOUNTY – add dessicated coconut

WOOOO!

 METHOD

  1.  For the base – In a food processor blend together all your base ingredients until fully combined. Lay out on the bottom of a shallow trat. Place in a freezer for a few minutes whilst you make your filling.
  2. For the filling – combine all the filling ingredients until a caramel like texture is formed. If too thick, add some water. But, you want it relatively thick! Spread over your pre made base and pop in freezer for another couple of minutes.
  3. For the topping – In a small bowl mix together all your ingredients until a runny chocolate sauce is formed. Then, coat your base and filling. You can also top with hazlenuts or cacao nibs!
